Lesson From the Chimps.

The most striking character of the chimps, I would say is their ability to think ahead and plan for the future.

I never thought I’d be interested in these creatures until my last visit to the zoo, watching a documentary last month on human evolution would even sum it all up.

There is a story about a chimp in a Swedish zoo who calmly collects stones, hoards them and even fashions concrete discs then he would later use to hurl at zoo visitors. This action had reinforced researchers believe that chimpanzees have a highly developed consciousness, including life-like mental simulations of potential events. “They most probably have an inner world like human beings in reviewing the past episodes of there lives and thinking of days to come”, researchers have asserted.

21st Century Primate

As interesting as the chimps’ story is, it points to the fact that human being as a superior animal should take planning seriously.

Another year has just passed by opening the way for a New Year. But then, while the events of the past years still have it’s roles to play in the current, whatever happens in the course of the year would depend on what plans have been made at the beginning. It is, therefore, expedient to take a cue from the chimpanzees and plan for the days to come.

Cheers to the remaining 321days!
